If you are the NYC area on Saturday, April 19th, and you feel like helping to save the world, please join JetBlue Airways, 106.7 Lite FM and New York Restoration Project (NYRP) in doing One Thing That’s Green by participating in a volunteer day planting trees and beautifying New York City’s East Harlem.
Selected as a focus neighborhood by MillionTreesNYC – a citywide initiative to plant and care for one million trees throughout the City’s five boroughs – East Harlem has one of the City’s highest rates of youth asthma. By joining us in planting trees in East Harlem, we can increase the neighborhood’s tree canopy, which filters pollutants from the air and as a result, helps to reduce rates of adolescent asthma.
The trees we plant will also cool the neighborhood’s streets and homes, reduce storm water runoff, encourage healthy, active living, and most importantly, slow global warming. A lot of benefits from simply doing One Thing That’s Green!
