The Geffrye Museum features recreated living rooms from 1600 to the present day. The most interesting part was seeing the evolution—everything in the rooms became more refined, more colorful, more decorated, and more comfortable (or so it seemed). And, as my friend noted, people accumulated and displayed much more junk.

Of all the historic houses I’ve visited, Spencer House is one of the most beautiful. It’s also got the best story to go with it—a love match! A secret wedding! One could easily imagine characters from a romance novel living in a house like this.
