Leanna Renee Hieber is one of my buddies from our local NYC chapter of RWA. This lovely and funny author writes highly imaginative futuristic paranormal romances. Check out her answers to my same six questions and then check out her newest release, Dark Nest.
1. If you could have any super power, what would it be?
To Fly! “Bird” was my first spoken word and I’ve adored the creatures ever since. Bird metaphors show up all over my writing, and on my body; I’ve got a bird and feathers tattooed on my back.
2. Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Severus Snape.
3. What is one of your most romantic moments?
My boyfriend meeting me at the center of Grand Central Station with a rose behind his back, with tickets for an unknown destination.
4. Of the places you’ve traveled to, which is your favorite?
London.
5. What’s your most used curse word?
Damn. It’s such a historic, epic word.
6. Please take a moment of shameless self-promotion:

Thanks for this great opportunity, Maya! I had such fun answering these. I’ll be linking up to you from my blog!
I want to know the unknown destination your boyfriend whisked you away to!
Oooh, I love Snape, too. But I am not sure if it because Alan Rickman plays him in the movies. I think I love Snape more in the movies than the books. I loved Rickman in the 1990s Robin Hood, too. Nice pick!
Emily, I think it’s totally my beloved Mr. Rickman’s fault!
Maya,
He whisked me off to the rose garden at the New York Botanical Garden. Yep. Magic.
Great questions! What a neat way to get to know a new author. It’s easy to see how romance writing comes so naturally to you Leanna. You obviously take from real life experiences and then put a spin on them.
Love that romantic moment!
I’ve never been to the NY Botanical Garden, but it sounds so lovely!
And PS everyone: Leanna’s Dark Nest got a review at Publisher’s Weekly! Wow! Here’s the link:

Wonderful questions that tell so much more than the standard FAQ for authors – particularly the superpower. And Leanna’s answers were lovely – esp. the bird and the romantic moment.
Gotta love the curse word question too – like Inside The Actor’s Studio, it tells you SO much about a person!
Hope to see more interviews, Maya.
