You might have clicked on it and found yourself whisked away to a page that said, “coming soon.” I am now proud and delighted to announce that Share The Love has arrived. So go ahead, click on that logo and see where it takes you.

Share The Love is a non-profit organization that accepts donations of gently-used romance novels and passes them onto other groups that assist women in crisis, such as homeless and domestic violence shelters, prisons and halfway houses. Why? Because everyone deserves the pleasure of a good story and a happy ending.
I founded Share The Love with my friend and romance-writing buddy, Ann Bleakley because I thought there was a better use for the books I’d read other than looking pretty on the shelf. Because I’ve always believed that darn good story was the best way to inspire a love of reading. Because studies have shown that increasing literacy among women improves the families they support. Because even though romance novels are cheap as far as entertainment goes, they may not be in the budget for everyone who could use a good, uplifting and inspiring story. And because….why not?
I hope you agree. I hope you’re inspired to collect all your old romance novels and pass them along to someone new. At the very least, I hope you want to know more about how you can share the love.

Such a wonderful organization you’ve set up! I will absolutely be going through my books. I’m in need of a good spring-cleaning-in-the-fall as it is!

I suspect there are scores of shelters and halfway houses for battered and abused women that will jump at this once the word gets out.
