Last night at Lady Jane’s Salon

I daresay Lady Jane’s Salon was a splendid success! We had a wonderful crowd–every plush velvet seat at Madame X was filled a lovely romance fan. There was lots of chatting and laughter, but we all got quiet to hear Andrea Pickens to read from The Scarlet Spy. Lady Jane co-founder Hope Tarr read from her newest release, Every Breath You Take… after a lovely speech about love–falling in love, being in love, sharing the love…

Share The Love sponsored this event (with Beatrice.com), and all proceeds from the event benefited my charity. Admission to the salon was five bucks or a gently used romance novel. I left that night with over fifty books to donate to women’s shelters, like Women In Need. Alyssa, the events coordinator from WIN, was there to tell everyone how the ladies loved receiving the romance novels. To everyone who brought something to give: thank you so very much for sharing the love.

We had lots of big names were in attendance. Barbara Vey of Publisher’s Weekly was there, along with the ladies from Romantic Times and my friends Marisa and Maria of Romance Novel TV. Former RWA NYC president and blogger Elizabeth Kerri Mahon was there, as well as New York Times Bestselling author Lauren Willig.Btw: She’ll be reading at the next salon on March 2nd!

Enjoy the photos! They were taken by my dashing, handsome, perfect and wonderful English boyfriend. Lady Jane owes him a big thanks for the photographs, videos, and heavy lifting (seriously–we got A LOT of romance novels for Share The Love).

What a magical night it was indeed, Maya. I can’t think of a better group with whom to share the love of romance novels, or love period. Judging from the smiles wreathing the guests’ faces as they took their leave, Lady Jane’s has filled a niche–and found a home here in Manhattan.

It sounds like this was wonderful. I definitely would have come if I were anywhere near NYC! Glad it was such a success.
