I forgot to bring my camera to Lady Jane’s Salon last night, which is sad because last evening was lovely and I would have loved to share photos. We had a good crowd in spite of a giant snow storm. Our readers were wonderful (more on that). And, well, it doesn’t entirely matter that I forgot my camera because the New York Post was there!!!
I do believe that qualifies as mainstream media. Romance Novels. Mainstream Media. Doesn’t usually add up. Of course, it’s not certain that we’ll make it in the paper, but trust me, I’ll be checking every morning since I conveniently get it delivered right to my door. And if we do…I will certainly mention it here.
Our readers last night were Lauren Willig and Leanna Renee Hieber as Jenna Petersen. Jenna’s flight was canceled (see above snow storm) and we were all bummed she couldn’t be there. Leanna did an amazing job reading from Lessons From A Courtesan.
Our other featured reader, Lauren Willig, was a delight–totally funny and totally engaging. She read three sections from her new NYTimes bestselling novel, The Temptation of The Night Jasmine–her favorite scene, one inside the hero’s head while he is not thinking about the heroine, and a hilarious scene about men and ice cream flavors. If you want more of an explanation about that, you’ll have to read the book or watch the video
And then we had a very, very special guest. He (yes, a boy!) is my darling, charming, English BF and in exchange for creating a website for Lady Jane, he read an original composition of his. We’ll be posting it on the the new Lady Jane website: www.ladyjanesalon.com. If the camera is shaky, it’s because I–like the rest of the crowd–was laughing so hard at the story of Lord Johnny St. John, “the FBI’s principal English expatriate undercover cowboy race car driver.”
Next month–April 6th– at Lady Jane’s Salon, my BF and I will be reading from The Rogue And The Rival. Any scene suggestions are welcome (but no, not a sex scene!). Alisa Kwitney will be joining us and Sarah of the popular blog Smart Bitches Trashy Books will be our guest emcee. Oh, what a night we have planned! See you at the Salon!
