A few of my favorite eco-cool things

I’m always trying to make my life greener and more environmentally lovely. In addition to my organic food and super natural cleaning supplies (amazing what can be done with vinegar and water), I’ve decided to green my other products–clothing, makeup, shoes, etc. Here are a few of my favorite green (and cheap!) things:

Organic Wear makeup: I love makeup but I’m not a fan of slathering toxic chemicals on my face. Fortunately, I discovered this Organic Wear line at my local drug store. Their mascara is the absolute very best I have ever tried. Ever!!! Everything else–powder, blush, etc–works really well, too. The only downside is that the cardboard packaging doesn’t hold up well for travel.

You might also want see how safe your products are at www.safecosmetics.org

Stewart + Brown clothing: Stylish clothing made of organic cotton (it’s really, really soft!) and other eco-friendly fabrics. Check out the sale section for the very best deals and for guilt-free shopping.

Keds shoes: Organic canvas, recycled rubber soles, classic design. Fifty-five bucks.

And…

Those who know me are well aware that one of my frequently uttered phrases is “my Momma says” because my Momma knows everything. She is now sharing her wisdom–and cooking up trouble and dishing out advice–at her blog Maria’s Farm Country Kitchen.

This is really cool. We have that a lot here in Germany, but unfortunately organic make up stuff is really expensive.

My life is green because we don’t have a car since about one year. Originally it was because of financial problems but now I’m not so sure my life would be quite as peaceful as it is if we had a car again…

    Hi Lisa!

I know most organic make-up can be outrageously expensive–this stuff isn’t, which makes it very noteworthy and makes me happy :)

Interesting how not having a car is so peaceful! I love walking around the city, but I don’t know how I’d get around without a car when I visit my parents in the country.

I’m so excited to try the organic mascara, Maya! Thanks for the great tips!!

And I’m so with you – my life just isn’t interesting enough to blog every day! LOL!

Hope Lady Jane’s is great this month…I’m sad to miss it, but I’m afraid work will catch on to me calling out every first Monday of the month! I’ll see you in June, though! :)

A Lady Jane event without Jerrica?! Oh no! We’ll miss you, but will see you in June when we have 3 authors reading!

And seriously, this mascara is amazing.

Thanks for the tip about Organic Wear makeup. I went to their site, and the products look good (and affordable!). I clicked on the “where to shop” link, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that their products are available in a lot of stores. I’ll look for it when I go out this weekend. :)
