Wendy Corsi Staub is incredibly popular (New York Times bestseller) and incredibly prolific (3 books to be released this year!) yet she still has time to read at Lady Jane’s Salon this Monday and answer The Same Six Questions I Always Ask!
1.If you could have any super power, what would it be?
To go back in time and be with my mom again. I lost her four years ago this month to breast cancer, and I miss her more, not less, with every day. But I would not want to travel to the future – I’m afraid of what I might see!
2. Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
It would have to be a heroine, and I’m torn between two feisty nineteenth century characters that inspired me as a girl: Jo March and Laura Ingalls…both of whom were autobiographical creations of my favorite authors.
3. What is one of your most romantic moments?
When my husband and I were dating, I had to have dental surgery, which ravaged my mouth and made my whole face swollen. He asked me if I needed anything, and I told him I could use some straws. He came home with an industrial-sized box, so sympathetic and wanting to take care of me. That was the first time I knew he loved me-and the first time he told me.
4. Of the places you’ve traveled to, which is your favorite?
Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia
5. What’s your most used curse word?
Believe it or not, I’m not a big curse-word user. I’m no prude by any means, but cursing has always been a turn-off to me, especially now that I have kids.
6. Please take a moment of shameless self-promotion:
I love to hear from readers, so please come see me online at www.wendycorsistaubcommunity.com–my home on the web. There, you can find out more about the three books I’m releasing in 2009: DEAD BEFORE DARK, my latest thriller, out in May from Kensington Books; LILY DALE: DISCOVERING, the fourth installment in my YA Paranormal series, coming from Walker Books for Young Readers in October; and T HE BEST GIFT, a time travel Christmas romance and sequel to 2006’s IF ONLY IN MY DREAMS, coming in December from NAL Signet and written as Wendy Markham. Right now I’m writing LIVE TO TELL, the first thriller on my 3-book contract with Avon, my new publisher. It’s scheduled for March 2010.

Hi Wendy,
I agree with Laura–very sweet answers! I totally agree with you about seeing the future: not for me, thanks!
“I totally agree with you about seeing the future: not for me, thanks!”
Count me in, too, for that.
Hi guys! It’s funny, no one has ever asked me about a romantic moment before. I think I’ll have to have my husband check out this blog!!
Great questions and answers! Just when I thought I knew all there was to know about Wendy–okay, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but you know what I mean…
