Lady Jane’s Salon is always a lovely evening and last night it was exceptionally so. What was probably our largest crow–ever–turned out for four outstanding readers. Seriously, it was really crowded. For the first time we had to move in other furniture, which at Madame X consists of faux leopard fur benches, to go with all that red velour and velvet. So who reading that attracted such a crowd?
N.K. Jemison read beautifully from her otherworldy, paranormal novel, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Check out some sample chapters on her website.
Miranda Neville gave a terrific reading from The Wild Marquis. We all laughed when, after finishing a sexy scene, she said “I’m now going to skip over some plotty stuff now.” And then she read another sexy scene. (My, we sound smutty at Lady Jane’s!)
Kate Noble has a perfect reading voice, and very funny heroine in Lady Jane, who (sorry Lady Jane!) once ran naked around the fountain when she was 5 in The Summer of You.
Sarah MacLean has great titles. She read from her latest, Nine Rules To Break When Romancing A Rake, which features an emboldened spinster and a rake that needs a favor. Her next title is even better.
Thanks to all the authors—and all their publishing houses and friends—that turned up to hang out with our salon regulars. And thanks to those who traveled quite a ways to get to the Salon—Kate, Lisa, and some members of RWA Connecticut.
Next month: We’ll be at our usual spot on May 3rd with Jerri Smith-Ready, Christina B. Conroy and Leanna Renee Hieber. We’re also taking our show on the road to Columbus, Ohio for the annual RT convention! Super special Salon guests for that evening are…. Linnea Sinclair, Delilah Marvelle and Sabrina Jeffries.

Thanks again for the drink, lol.
If all goes well and according to plan, I’ll see you, Tony, Leanna, Hope, and Ron in June.
Have a great weekend!
