Category Archives: London!

I’m a really lucky girl. I’ve managed to set myself up in London for the summer as part of my grad school program. I’ve assigned myself an independent study on…Romance Novels! Well, to be more specific, Regency-Era London. This means I’ll be spending lots of time in the library, but I’ll also go out and see all the places our heroes and heroines might have lived and loved.

Dublin

I recently returned from a trip to my mecca—the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. I’ve been to more than my share of museums lately, and this one is certainly the most fun and not just because you get a free pint at the end (though that certainly does not hurt).

We [...]

The most interesting part was seeing the evolution—everything in the rooms became more refined, more colorful, more decorated, and more comfortable (or so it seemed). And, as my friend noted, people accumulated and displayed much more junk.
They had a Regency Era style [...]

Brighton Pavilion

My friend Sara said that Brighton Pavilion was one of the best things we’ve seen on our trip so far. I have to agree. It certainly isn’t the typical Palace tour (and we’ve gone on so many by now…)
The pavilion was the Prince Regent’s pleasure palace. It was built in the early 1800’s and decorated [...]
